The Panametrics PT878 is a self-contained, highly versatile, portable transit-time system capable of meeting all of your liquid flow measurement needs. It can be used on pipes with a diameter between 0.5 inches and 300 inches (12.7mm to 7.6 m) and on all metals and most plastics.
 It provides accurate, drift-free flow measurement using its patented Correlation Transit-Time signal processing technique. This method utilises two transducers that serve as both ultrasonic signal generators and signal receivers (The second transducer receiving a signal transmitted by the first and vice versa). The difference between the downstream and upstream transit times is proportional to the velocity of the flowing liquid.
The Panametrics PT878 is extremely easy to use. Getting started is simply a matter of inputting the site parameters, clamping the transducers to the pipe and adjusting the spacing. It is possible to be taking your first flow measurements within minutes of opening the case.
